RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication, and is an effective way to manage the avalanche of information being generated on the World Wide Web. It consumes all the information and only feeds onto the user exactly what they have asked for.
How does this work in practice? Let us assume that you are interested in a project on a sport and need to keep looking at a variety of websites to gather the latest news. If the RSS processed that information for you and listed just the articles you might be interested in, that would save a lot of time and possibly allow you time to view more sites to get a better balanced opinion.
In the following posts I will give you my interpretation about how this can assist a pupils to improve their subject knowledge and thus grades.
