THE SOCIAL WEB

Learning together in school has been the norm for the 20th century, but as we are now well into the 21st, we need to appreciate as teachers and parents that the Internet has brought to our pupils and children more information in more detail and much faster than ever before. It is likely that our children are becoming better informed about some aspects of society than we as parents.

With most homes having access to a PC and most children with access to the internet via their games console or mobile phone, information is being exchanged between them ouside of our comtrol. This section is aimed at keeping parents and teachers aware of the latest social sites such as FACEBOOK and what ever replaces it. As parents and teachers, if we are aware of the technology that is available, and simple ways of using it, we might be able to retain some element of control and interest in our childs welfare whilst they are on the Internet.
